Over the last few weeks several Arsenal players have stated their confidence that their manager Arsene Wenger will stay at the club.

Several board members have also come out and confirmed thier confidence in the Arsenal manager to sign a new deal.

Speaking to Arsenal’s official website Wenger said: ‘I have shown since I’ve arrived here that I’m very faithful to the club.

‘I think I’ve always shown my commitment to the club and I’ll come out at the right moment to speak about the future, especially about my future.

Despite hints from Peter Hill-Wood and Keith Edelman: ‘I cannot announce things when they are not signed, not done, not discussed.

‘If I had signed for one year when I arrived, everyone would have thought that was a long time. There’s still one year to go.

‘What I want first is our immediate future to be bright.

‘We want to start well, we are all committed.’

Nothing there to be concerned about for Arsenal fans. I think it’s a matter of when, not IF Wenger signs a new deal.

  • I think he will stay at Arsenal until he decides to lighten his workload and manage a national team…

  • He’s already said that he will never manage a national team. He said that he couldn’t stand not being involved every day with training etc.

  • Wenger looked very relaxed in that press conference, and it was good to see. I am not worried about his future anymore, all the indications recently have been telling us that he will sign another contract.

  • I think he will move to the DoF position after another 3-4 yr contract, and just a wild guess on who could come in for him as manager: TA or Paul Le Guen.

  • Actually I am not sure if he will move as DoF. That job involves a lot of paperwork, and in his interview earlier today, he said how much he hated paperwork 🙂

  • I’m Sure Wenger will be at Arsenal for a long time yet. A few years as manager, then he’ll take a posistion on the board, that doesn’t mean he has to be DoF though. Paul Le Guen would be my tip to replace Wenger. Rangers are stupid for sacking him, with a bit of time he can work wonders…just look at Lyon!
