Promising Arsenal midfielder Mark Randall is hoping to be given a chance to shine in The Premiership this season after impressing in the academy and reserves last season.

He joined Arsenal less than a year ago as a schoolboy, and it took Arsene Wenger all of 6 months to decide he was worthy of a professional contract.

His favoured posistion is central midfield, but if he is to play in the Premiership next season, it’s more likely to be on one of the flanks.

He made 17 apperances in all last season. Ten for the Under-18’s and seven for the reserves, scoring two goals.

The youngster told Arsenal.com: ‘Hopefully I will get a run-out in the Premier League this season but maybe I will go out on loan. I don’t know yet.

He puts those who rant and rave about Arsene Wenger having an agenda with English youngsters to shame, confirming that if you are good enough, you play.

‘But as a youngster I feel if you are good enough then you will get your chance here. The boss has shown that in the past.’

He then went on to speak abou the benefits of joining the first team on their tour of Austria: ‘The first team come to Austria every season and a lot of young players want to be part of the tour.

‘Training with them is a lot sharper. Having such good players around you all the time makes it a lot easier both for yourself and your team-mates.

‘There is also a great spirit around the squad at the moment and it was great to be part of that.’
