Arsene Wenger admits he could be resigned to losing our mad cap keeper on a bosman at the end of the season after the transfer window signalled a period when Lehmann could potenitally sign a pre-contract with another club.

The rules state that Mad Jens could talk to any club with a view to signing without prior permission of Mr. Wenger or anyone at Arsenal.

Le Boss claims he has no idea of Lehmann’s intentions, and indeed it is his own priority to get the German number one to stay, but will not break his policy of ‘one year for over 30’s’

‘I do not know whether Jens will stay. Ideally I would like him to stay but I don’t know yet. We will have to wait and see what happens.

‘But he will not get more than one year. What can change things is if another club offers him three years.

‘We have not really sat down yet and spoken about a contract, about what I expect of him for the rest of the season.

‘He can sign a pre-contract with someone else but that’s a risk I take.

I do get the feeling that our favorite nutcase will leave us in the summer, after providing some of the most wonderful memories in recent history. I’m quite whatever he decides to do, he will always remain in the hearts of Gooners the world over.
