Arsenal’s German goalkeeper spoken of his intentions to play for a new deal at Arsenal.

With only 6 months or so left on his contract, the 36 year old has decided he wants to play on with the Gunners.

Lehmann put in a couple of dodgy performances last season and was replaced by Manuel Almunia, he then vowed to fight for his place. True to his word, Lehmann has fought back in fine style and is now putting in some of the best performances of his Arsenal career.

‘I know I’ve been consistent since I got back into the side,’ said Lehmann.

‘I’m concentrating on every game, I’m playing to win trophies and hopefully extend my contract.’

‘I have to work very hard and be consistent and, in that respect, I’m doing very well,’

‘It’s all about consistency. You can’t rely on a goalkeeper who is making a fantastic save in one match and then a bad mistake in the next.’
