Arsenal To Win Championship?

The Birmingham Post`s Hyder Jawad says that Arsenal trio Nicklas Bendtner, Fabrice Muamba and Sebastian Larrson could go a long way to helping Birmingham City gain promotion back to the Premiership.

The Arsenal starlets joined Birmingham on loan back in August. Muamba and Larrson are on a season-long loan, Bendtner is there until January, although Steve Bruce wants to extend that loan till the end of the season.

Bendtner got off to a great start for the Blues, grabbing some vital goals. But it is Muamba who has impressed most so far this season, prompting team mates his manager and several journalists to draw comparisons with Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira. Larrson hasn`t had as many opportunities as his fellow Gooners to impress but has done well when called upon.

This is what Jawad had to say:

On Nicklas Bendtner: ‘He settled in instantly. Within the first five minutes of his debut you could see his class.

He`s fearless. I haven`t seen so much confidence in a teenager in a long time. He`s got a belief in his own ability that`s up there with Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen.

His movement off the ball is superb and to be honest you could play him anywhere and he`d look good. His passing, touch and finishing are exemplary too.

He`s just beautiful to watch. Without doubt he could be playing in the Premiership now and if I was going to pick a Championship dream team Bendtner would definitely be in it.”

On Fabrice Muamba: ‘Fabrice is a much tougher player. He fits in well to a team that`s as direct as Birmingham. His touch is superb and you certainly wouldn`t fancy a 50/50 tackle with him.

Like Bendtner, you could play him in any position and he`d shine. I think at any level of football you need to give a young player a string of games to take away the fear.

At the beginning he wasn`t quite guaranteed first-team football but I think that meant there was no pressure and that breeds confidence. Now he`s had a run he looks more relaxed and he`s really making an impression.”

His comments on Seb Larrson were a little more surprising. Many-a-Gooner could see little that stood out about him but Hyder Jawad is seeing something that not many of us are: ‘At left back he`s looked good, bombing forward and putting in some decent crosses. He`s quieter than the other two and a bit different but again he could play anywhere.

He seems to know who he`s going to pass to even when he doesn`t have the ball and has the ability to make time for himself.

Of all three I think Larsson may get the chance at Arsenal and will certainly be an international for years to come.

He`s not been in the side so much recently because Steve Bruce was under pressure and had to bring in more experienced players to make sure the team got some results. For that reason you can`t read anything into Larsson being on the bench – it`s just the way things have worked out. I`m sure he`ll be back in very quickly.”
