Ok, ok, I might have misled you a little. He isn`t a star but he is a French striker. Jeremie Aliadiere has said that he may look to leave Arsenal if boss Arsene Wenger doesn`t start giving him more games.

Jeremie, Arsenal`s second longest serving player after Freddie Ljungberg, says he wants nothing more than to make it at the club he loves – Arsenal: ‘It has been good to play for Arsenal in the first team again and score some goals.

‘Any opportunity I get, I will do my best and try to show the boss I am ready to play more games.

‘The most important thing for me is to show him every day in training and with every opportunity on the pitch that I am ready to be in the squad more.

‘I am really focused on doing my best every time I go on the pitch.’

Aliadiere, 23 joined the Gunners just days after his 16th birthday. Wenger spotted him playing in a French football academy and snapped the youngster up on a free.

First team opportunities have been few and far between for the French striker, despite his pace, power and lethal finishing. Many had tipped him to be a long-term successor to compatriot Thierry Henry but the arrival of youngsters like Van Persie, Walcott, Adebayor, Lupoli and Bendtner, along with terrible injury troubles has seen that he plays little part for the Arsenal first team.

He hasn`t yet given up hope but says that he needs a chance to prove himself and soon: ‘It has been good to play for Arsenal in the first team again and score some goals,’ the striker said.

‘Any opportunity I get, I will do my best and try to show the boss I am ready to play more games.

‘The most important thing for me is to show him every day in training and with every opportunity on the pitch that I am ready to be in the squad more.

‘I am really focused on doing my best every time I go on the pitch.

‘The fact I was offered and signed a new deal last season proved that the manager believes in me and thinks I still have a future at Arsenal.

‘But that does not change that I am not playing enough and I obviously want to play more games.

Aliadiere added: ‘I have been here eight years, I always wanted to be here and love the club.

‘It is nothing more than I want to play for Arsenal – but obviously I am 23 now, which is not young any more and I need to play every week for my career.’

I for one hope the lad can make it at Arsenal, he has worked hard and deserves success.
