Arguably Arsenal’s two top performers last season have been selected for FIFA’s squad of the tournament.

Jens Lehmann and Thierry Henry both made it into the squad after each contributing vital components to the varied success of their respective teams.

To date, Thierry Henry has scored 3 goals, including the strike that knocked tournament favorites Brazil from the competition & still has a World Cup Final to play in and Lehmann has made many valuable saves and also made a couple of stops in a penalty shoot out against the Argies.

Both players are well deserving of their place.

Squad in full:-

Goalkeepers: Gianluigi Buffon (Italy), Jens Lehmann (Germany), Ricardo (Portugal)

Defenders: Roberto Ayala (Argentina), John Terry (England), Lilian Thuram (France), Philipp Lahm (Germany), Fabio Cannavaro (Italy), Gianluca Zambrotta (Italy), Ricardo Carvalho (Portugal)

Midfielders: Ze Roberto (Brazil), Patrick Vieira (France), Zinedine Zidane (France), Michael Ballack (Germany), Andrea Pirlo (Italy), Gennaro Gattuso (Italy), Luis Figo (Portugal), Maniche (Portugal)

Strikers: Hernan Crespo (Argentina), Thierry Henry (France), Miroslav Klose (Germany), Francesco Totti (Italy), Luca Toni (Italy)

Remarkably, Spain’s Fernando Torres has been omitted from the squad, despite contributing far more to his team than Crespo, Totti & Toni.
