We all know 2016/17’s top scorers in the Premier League, but which players goals returned the most points across the year.
With Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane taking the Golden Boot this season with a return of 29 league goals, Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez were close behind with 25 and 24 respectively, but the top goalscorers don’t necessarily mean they were decisive goalscorers.
In fact on that basis it was actually Diego Costa of Chelsea who created the most points with his efforts on target, followed narrowly by Kane and Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero.
With a nod to Sky Sports for doing the legwork on this one, here are the top point returning goalscorers from each of the 20 Premier League clubs last campaign, and how many points their goals physically returned for said sides.
