Arsene Wenger is adamant Arsenal will recover after Cesc Fabregas completed arguably the most protracted transfer in football history to Barcelona.

The Gunners’ boss said the club fought hard to keep the 24-year old in North London, ultimately they had to respect his wishes and allow him to move back to his boyhood club.

Despite the loss of his captain, Wenger remains confident his side will bounce back. Admitting they’ve lost ‘a World Class player’ the Frenchman noted other big names have left the club in the past and he’s still managed to rebuild.

Samir Nasri could soon follow Fabregas out of the club with his move to Manchester City, whilst Turkish side Galatasary revealed they are in talks over signing Emmanuel Eboue.
