Manager Arsene Wenger has held his pre match talk ahead of our game against Newcastle United at the weekend and it’s not looking good on the injury front.

Speaking to the Official Site Wenger explained that our main problems were still in defence as Laurent Koscielny is out with the calf injury he sustained in the game against Southampton, Nacho Monreal remains out with his foot problem and Calum Chambers is serving his suspension.

In other news Aaron Ramsey has to be assessed following the hamstring injury he picked up against Galatasaray, but it is being reported in the press that the 23 year old will be out for up to four weeks now following his substitution.

Theo Walcott is now back in training and he has been for the last two days but he obviously lacks fitness and sharpness so is a doubt for the weekend, but the manager rubbished suggestions that Jack Wilshere had suffered a set back.

‘That’s completely wrong. He’s doing very well. He’s on crutches so I don’t see how he can have a set back. It’s frustrating because it’s hard enough for Jack to be injured, he doesn’t need negative news on top of that. It’s always frustrating to deny things that are not true.’

As for the game itself, he added.

‘They are doing well and are on a good run, so it will be a very interesting challenge for us. But I think we have a good dynamic in our team – we won four of our last five games, the one blip was against Stoke, but overall I think we are on a good trend.’
