Fourth’s The Reasonable Aim

Arsenal’s ‘stuttering start’ to this Premier League season saw it stall once again last weekend against Stoke. That, and other results, leaves most of the opinion that fourth is our best bet?

We reacted to that defeat with a good four-one win over Galatasaray in the Champions League in midweek, scoring some belting goals, but it’s in the Premier League that we need to find some consistency and form like that.

If not then fourth, which gained 26% of the vote, is the best that we can hope for….

Whilst fourth will bring another season of Champions League football (at least a qualifier) it’s not really good enough is it? Then again, maybe it is?

The latest polls results were:-

With a stuttering start to the season what league position can we still reasonably aim for?

Fourth 26%
Fifth or lower 22%
Second 18%
Third 18%
First 12%
Still too early to bother with predictions 4%

In the wake of that three-two defeat to Stoke we find ourselves occupying sixth spot.

Fifth or lower is what almost ΒΌ of those that voted feel, at this stage, we’ll end up in – priority always has to be that top four finish, but finishing fourth, or even second or third alone isn’t the aim we go into the season with is it.

Why not share some thoughts with us on the poll and what it concluded with some views below….
