Arsene Wenger and David Beckham have continued their virtual love affair even after the Arsenal Real Madrid tie has passed.

Most thought Wenger and Beckham were just exchanging pleasantries in the build up to the Champion’s League game, but it seems the flirting has continued long after the final whistle.

Pre-match comments such as ‘Beckham is one of the finest passers in the game’ and ‘Mr Wenger is one of the best in the business’ were passed between one another, at one point the England Skippers face beamed with joy upon hearing Arsene’s praise, but now, for the first time, Wenger has admitted possibly thinking about going in for the midfielder.

‘Of course I would take him,’ Wenger said. ‘I don’t know what his intentions are. Ask me if I rate him and I say yes. Ask if he can play at Arsenal and I say yes, he has the qualities to do it.’

‘Have I been in for him? No. I don’t think about it now, I will address it at the end of the season.’

‘I can give you 20 names of players who could become involved in Arsenal Football Club – exceptional players who would add something, and if we need it we’ll do it. He could be one of them.’

I don’t know how I would feel about bringing Becks to the club, he certainly is the set piece king, and can pass a ball as good as anyone in the game, but do we really need another ageing player in our ranks?
