Arsene Wenger says he has plenty of options upfront after loaning out Lukas Podolski to Inter Milan (despite only hours early claiming their interest was “a joke”)following the return to action of Theo Walcott.

Theo made a decent return showing his old pace and getting into good positions, he did spurn a glorious opportunity to make it 2-0 but his finishing will return with match practice. The Arsenal manager say Walcott coming back means he has many options upfront despite the departure of Podolski.

‘We have many options when you think of the players who still have not played tonight, we have many solutions up front.” he told Arsenal Player.

‘You cannot expect much [from Walcott yet] but fitness-wise he was good. He had good chances, made some good runs. He has to get used to contact again and that will take a little bit of time. Overall it was a positive first game.”

‘It`s a very important period now. We`ve had many injuries until now and hopefully everybody will be back.’
