The Premier League season continued with the latest round of games played over the weekend.

Brighton pulled clear of the relegation zone, adding to the pressure on West Ham’s Slaven Bilic, with a convincing win over the Hammers on Friday evening to kick off the weekends schedule – this continued on Saturday lunchtime when Chelsea hit four in a victory over Watford.

A shock Huddersfield win over Manchester United at the John Smith’s Stadium opened the door for Manchester City to extend a lead at the top, which they took when beating Burnley at the Etihad Stadium.

Crystal Palace are now four points adrift at the bottom following a defeat at Newcastle, second bottom Bournemouth are only a point off third bottom Stoke after the Cherries recorded only their only second victory of the campaign over the Potters.

The Leicester reaction to sacking Craig Shakespeare saw them win at Swansea. Meanwhile, the late game on Saturday saw Southampton overcome West Brom.

Sunday was a poor day for Merseyside as both Blue and Red halves were soundly beaten.

Everton got things going but were thrashed by Arsenal when they left Goodison Park with a 5-2 win. Liverpool faced the Gunners’ London rivals Tottenham at Wembley and Spurs – moving up to joint second – won that meeting 4-1.

Here’s a round-up of the Premier League results.
