Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has said that he fully expects Hull City to be out for revenge when we face them in the FA Cup this weekend.

The third round has pitted us against our opponents last season at Wembley, where we came from two goals behind to lift the trophy, and our stopper fully expects that Hull will have an extra spring in their step because they will be out to make a point following that defeat.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game, he was also keenly aware that the players had to make up for the loss to Southampton in our last league game as well.

‘It’s a good pressure. You want to be winning trophies and then defending them, so we are looking forward to it. We showed last year we can put a consistent run together in the competition and win it, so we will be looking to do the same again. I’m sure Hull will have a point to prove, so it will be an exciting game. But when we play in the FA Cup at home, we are confident.’

Szczesny goes on to say that Arsenal were quite lucky last season to be consistently drawn at home and he knows that proved to be a great advantage for us, but we go into this game prepared and wanting to win because having sat on the bench last May, he’d love to get back there and have the chance to play himself so he didn’t just experience all the emotions from the side of the pitch.

‘When I’m on the pitch I don’t get nervous at all, but on the bench I just hate it. I watch it and feel all these emotions from the side, so it’s completely different. It was by far the best moment of my life. The parade and the night after game were a couple of the best days of my life, too.’
