  • Hmm…. I don’t want to vote for Ronaldo, but I don’t want to vote for the Ecuador fellow either. That only leaves Messi currently within a shout of pipping them. I voted for Cesc (no bias, honest) but I can’t see Ronaldo failing to win.

  • Let me state straight away that I cannot stand ronaldo, however I dont see why everyone is blaming him for rooney’s sending off. I have seen arsenal players gestering to refs to have players booked & what ronaldo done is no different. If rooney hadnt deliberately stamped on carvalho then this situation would never have happened so its ridiculous to slate ronaldo for doing what most players do. They may be team-mates at man utd but that doesnt mean they actually like each other. I wouldnt vote for him as young player of the tournament because personally I dont think he is, torres was a lot better whilst he was in & ribery has come into his own now his confidence is up so either of those are a better choice & there are others.

England went out because basically we are rubbish & we was the whole way through the tournament.

  • Cristiano is good but not voting for him but he is the only youngster i know in the world cup now

  • Why arent ribery or torres in the young player section?? I would have voted for one of those but they must be too old!! I will therefore go with cesc!!

  • Why would that have touched a nerve? If Lampard, Cole & Terry would have done their jobs properly we might have been able to have seen a bit of Walcott!!

  • i vote valencia … top player played so well in the world cup … get ronaldo out !!!!! cheating portugese scum !

  • There is no raw nerve regarding Walcott, merlin. By all accounts he was ready to give 110% if called upon…. just a shame that Frank Lampard didn’t feel the same.

  • Lennon!? ha! and he played for how long? What good is all this against Ronaldo going to do? What’s done is done so stop dwelling on it. Any ref wouldn’t be influenced by any player and I don’t think it was his fault at all that he got sent off. He stepped on his balls and deserved to go. They’re just as bad as each other. A few years ago you always used to see a crowd of Arsenal players around the referee when a red card was shown or a penalty was given!

  • im voting lennon as i didnt watch many games in the tounament all the way through, and he was as good as any young player i saw there. i know messi and that is better but i didnt watch the argies. why the hell is scott carson and theo in the list, they didnt play a single minute!
