Earlier today member clubs of the Premier League met to discuss a potential change to the way overseas rights deals are distributed in the future.
The new plan would see a 35% over the overal deal for global television rights split between clubs based on final league position, and this would be a 25 year change where the sum has always been equally divided between all 20 top flight sides.
The six richest clubs – Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur – are said to be leading the charge for a change in the rules so their global success is better reflecting in the final income.

Further discussions will now take place in the meeting set for November.
The current 2016-19 deal worth £3billion in total, generates an equal share of £39million annually for top flights clubs but eyes have been turned with new contracts for international markets like China and the United States and it’s said they are ‘booming in value’ for the 2019-2022 period.
To secure a change in the rules, 14 member clubs need to be in favour of a change.
