With the move to the Emirates stadium drawing ever nearer, the implications of the move have been playing on the minds of most Gooners, ?will we have enough money?, ?will we fill the stadium? and ?what if we don?t have champions league football in our first season there? have been some of the questions fluttering about.

However, in a new section of the forum called ?have your say!? I?ve been asking fellow Arsenal fans what they think the move will bring, and we all now seem to be looking on the bright side!

This is one of the biggest achievements in the clubs history! We have worked hard saved money and brought players on an unimaginable budget. A combination of those and many other factors have contributed to us being able to afford this amazing stadium. It will affect the team in many ways, we will be able to mix our game up more and vary our already vast passing game.
The players will more than likely raise their game a level due to the fact that we will have around 22,000 extra fans. The club will be able to attract bigger players due to a bigger reputation and increased financial rewards. We will have around £20,000,000 extra match day revenue per season and that will clearly make us more competitive in the transfer market.
Unfortunately as fans we will have to cough up that extra cash, with ticket prices set to soar after next season compared to current prices. Although the club have said ‘the rise will brig our prices into line with other top London clubs’ so it’s not as bad as it all sounds. There will be a much better atmosphere on match day due to the increased number of fans but also due to the design of the stadium.

Highbury has so many memorable games over the years, rocky on the flank, davis in the middle and smudgy up front. Oh the memories, but times have changed – we need to create new memories at the grove. Henry skippering the side out on a lush turf and playing the ‘Beautiful game’as AW would put it, 60k fans screaming at the players, hairs on end (an all that), the future looks bright the futures AFC!!!

For a club with the history/tradition/support that Arsenal has, a bigger stadium can only be a benefit, in terms of revenue, support and stature. Whilst Highbury has witnessed many a great player and more than a few special games, it is not in keeping with a team that wants to be considered up there with the best in the world. Take one look at the Nou Camp, the San Siro, even Old Trafford… then look at Highbury… the new stadium not only serves as a step closer to Wengers vision, but re-enforces the boards commitment to taking the club forward. It will allow more fans to get to games, which in turn will give the players a lift, providing that more vocal support is given at games. I believe that while a plushy new stadium is a big step forward, more important is the manner in which the team is supported in that stadium… lets get behind the boys at every game, let the voices of the arsenal faithful be heard and let the team lead us on to a glorious future

Highbury, for so long a trusted and beloved cocoon, shall bow its old head to a newer prestige. As the old ways become forgotten days, a new home emerges from under its father’s shadow. With the birth of the glass temple, came those who dared to rejoice at all that is good. The advent of the home brings not the abandonment of the old, instead elevating, in necessity, those who adorn the crest. The greatest achievement of said new location is that the old king is allowed to retire with grace, no squalid skirmish from fans wanting to remain as they are. We are aware of where we must go and we know that this is the way ahead. A place to change, a place to grow, a place to be proud. As he looks on at his son, a sense of hope and expectation will be delivered upon soon. The King is dead. All hail the King.
