Eduardo Da Silva, Arsenal’s new bright striking hope, is ‘ready to explode’, so feels Arsene Wenger, TEAMtalk reports.

In his fledgling Arsenal career so far, Eduardo has already displayed excellent movement and awareness of his teammates, deftness of touch and a canny knack with the ball.

The goal he scored against Sparta Prague in the CL qualifier also gets better each time you see it, with the way he twists his body and strikes the ball coming across his torso, diverting it into the net, no mean feat as I testify, having performed some truly majestic air-kicks in my time as a truly crap footballer.

Wenger certainly thinks that there is a storm brewing in the form of the Crozilian, saying, ‘Slaven Bilic (Croatia coach) told me that in his first two or three games for the national team Eduardo was a bit inhibited but then he suddenly exploded,’ said Wenger.

‘Like every striker who comes in he feels he has to score goals. You saw him play on the left against Sparta and he was very lively. He made one goal and scored one himself.

‘For me Eduardo is a fantastic player.’

Next up for the Arsenal, the annual running of the gauntlet at the lane… what price a first league goal for Eduardo?
