Robbie Savage is THE most hated player in the Premiership, bar none, no matter who you speak to, and every time he crosses the white lines, or opens his mouth he does nothing but confirm peoples theories.

After Arsenal got a fair old kicking at Ewood park earlier this season, Robin van Persie participated in a frank and honest interview in which he says he doesn’t mind a physical game as long as it’s done in a fair manner. As you would expect, the response from Blackburn was a swift one with both Hughes & Dunn claiming van Persie, and indeed Wenger’s comments were wrong.

In an statement that has more hypocritical points than I’ve ever seen in a couple of sentences, Savage claims Arsenal are hypocrites.

‘Wenger is a great manager and van Persie is a great player but they give as good as they get. Van Persie did a piece in the paper slaughtering us, which is wrong. It’s a man’s game. It’s physical. You’re going to get stuck in and make tackles. And they do that, so it’s very hypocritical of them.’

‘Van Persie’s tackle on Ryan (Nelsen) when we played them was the worst in the entire game. But because they’re a London club, people only want to say nice things about them. And because we’re little old Blackburn, people like to have a go at us, which isn’t fair. People like Arsene Wenger should concentrate on his own team, instead of going on about us all the time.’

First of all he berates RvP for doing an interview in a paper slating the opposition for being overly physical and then in the next instances he’s having a whinge, outrageously claiming van Persie challenge on Nelson was the worst in the game despite the fact that Cesc Fabregas had his head stood on.

Second of all he says that Wenger should concentrate on Arsenal rather than ‘going on about’ them all the time. As far as I remember Wenger had his say after the game and that was that. The noises coming out of the Blackburn camp after that were far more numerous than our own.

And finally, and most humorously to me, Savage says ‘It’s a mans game, it’s physical’. After trying to portray himself as the big hard man I’d like to remind the long haired lunatic of one incident in the match in question. As Savage and Flamini challenged each other for a header, The Flamsters knee grazed, and I mean grazed, the Welshman’s side, subsequently the nerve endings in Robbie’s waist must be connected directly to his face because as soon as the minimal contact was made he rolled around on the floor for 5 minute clutching his wizened vizog.

The Premiership will struggle to prosper and promote itself as the Premier League of the world when people like Savage continue to get match time and are actually allowed to speak in public.

  • yeah yeah wadever, actually there’s no need for a post, no need to get angry, no need to feel sad for hm… it ain’t gonna change anything anyway.keep ur head, keep ur cool only twice a year..pretend u r visiting ur in laws and they will visit u..juz once every year. unless CC for FA cup, den its a bad year. relax…

  • I mirror Korodon`s views on this if I were to peek into that blond tarts thick skull I would see probably 2 things…

    1: No Brain period.

2: A jealous old *****er who played with the ManUtd youth team who won a junior FA cup medal only. Then get bombed out of OT and see the rest of Fergies young fledgelings win every honour on the planet, spurring him on to even greater lows…

  • Actually (and I think I will get some flak for this), RVP shouldnt have said all that in an interview. I fully support all that RVP said, mind you, but it only reinforces the opinion in other people’s eyes that Arsene and Arsenal constantly moan about the physical nature of the Premiership. It doesnt matter that the points Arsene and RVP were making were entirely different. Wenger had his say about the game, and we should move on and focus on our next games instead of paying attention to ****s like Savage.

  • That’s the point prits, we had moved on from that game, all our talking was done directly after the game, it’s Blackburn who keep bringing it up. Plus our next game is bloody ages away and we need to find things to write about :p BTW, you will never get flak on this site for voicing your opinion in a well thought out and structured manner.

  • Prits, when we played hard but fair during the Vieira period, we won more plaudits yet more red & yellow cards? Yet still played the Arsenal/Wenger style of footie. Its more noticeable nowadays with the depth of coverage from the media and Sky TV`s replays. We can never win whatever we do? We won the fair play league a couple of times recently and all sky could come up with was Wengers red card count now stands at no (Insert here). As far as I`m concerned I don`t give a flying one at a rolling doughnut. We are the Arsenal I`m proud of who we are!

  • Ps Savage your a classless, clueless, cheating clogger of a midfielder that I`ve ever had the missfortune to see play! And as Korodon rightly pointed out a very poor relation indeed.

  • This piece as well as RvP’s interview are all fair and full of valid points. But like prits said, it’s not worth another discussion. RS and his lot simply had no other better things to do apart from savaging people on the pitch and giving crap opinions off it. Not worth our while. Let’s also stop bringing it up and not add to the “whinging Arsene/Arsenal” thingy in the stupid press.

  • Not worth a blog this one and ‘Robbie’s waste’ should Robbie’s waist. Are you using Korodon’s spell checker? Even he doesn’t!

  • it wasnt Cesc’s head that was troden on, i do believe it was his neck!?! hardly the most resistant and durable part of the human body…

Savage has yet again proved what a prize prannet he is. Anyone remember the game at Ewood last year when he took out Gilberto, and then when Gibber wafted a leg back he went down like a sack of the faecal matter, duly getting him Gibber sent off? Is that part of ‘the man’s game’ too? Sounds more like the actions of a right useless dirty cheating c*** to me.

And i think Blackburn can play too, they’ve got some very useful players in their team, further enhanced by Santa Cruz, such a shame they have a dickwad such as Savage in their ranks… »»Arsene Knows««

  • Lol @ Herbie, you’ve become a humours addition to our already chocker site of jokers!!! “Nadgers”……..lolololol

  • Right I`m of to a wedding reception! Thank god it not a Cypriot one. Now shorts or jeans? Flip-flops or trainers? (30 degrees here still?)

  • I just can’t believe nobody has mentioned Savage’s pathetic little jibe about players leaving Blackburn in that same article. He says why would any player want to leave them unless its for one of the truly big clubs like Chelski, Man utd or Liverpool. Of course that could’ve been an oversight but he makes sure people understand he is having ago at Arsenal by stating once again that no player would want to leave Blackburn unless it was for a top 3 club, the other 17 are apparently all the same!! The guy is a moron & as soon as any decent club goes in for a Blackburn player they would want to leave, just look at Bellamy, & McCarthy spent all summer saying how much he wanted to join a champions league team.
