It`s safe to say this has been one of the craziest seasons for a long while.

Leicester will sit atop of the Premier League table on Christmas day, Chelsea are in a relegation battle, everyone is beating everyone else and Arsenal are yet to lose a game to a team in the top 7. It`s definitely not your typical season.

With things as they are you have to hope that Arsenal can be serious title challengers this season, in fact I`d go as far as to say this our best chance at winning the league since 2004. However it`s not just the unpredictability of the league that puts us in with a shot at the title, this Arsenal team is cut from different cloth from the Gunners sides of the last ten years.

Two FA Cups and two Community Shields in the last two seasons has given the club a taste of the winning ways once again, and the additions of Ozil, Sanchez and Cech coupled with the emergence of players like Coquelin and Bellerin have given this team a solid foundation. Not to mention the solidarity within the squad.

Arsene Wenger believes the character that has developed within the team can see us go all the way to the league title …. as long as we can maintain the consistency.

He said “What I feel is great team spirit and great unity in the dressing room, and a focus to go forward, that`s for sure, after that, we have to answer on the pitch whether we are good enough.”

“We have to accept that [having our character questioned is] part of it but we have to give our answer on the pitch week-in week-out and that [criticism] will slowly die.”

‘It was true for a while because we were a young team and a young team can be up and down. But I believe now we have shown it? what we did at Olympiakos is not a team of no character. You need to be special to achieve that. We won the FA Cup in the last two seasons and you need character to win the FA Cup. Everybody would love to do it every year.

“We are the only team who has beaten Leicester basically, and in a convincing way. The character is down to consistency in life. That`s what I call character. All of us can be for one day in our life exceptional but character is to have a target and maintain your focus on that target. That`s what I call character and that`s what we have to show in the league.’
