1971

Arsenal 2 Liverpool 1

Superbly led by captain McLintock, Arsenal become only the second side to capture the elusive ‘double’ in the 20th Century. Heighway put Liverpool ahead just 2 minutes into extra time, but Kelly’s equaliser saw weary limbs happy to play out a draw. Cue long-haired Charlie George and a strike from 20 yards that Gunners will never forget.

1979

Arsenal 3 Manchester United 2

An early goal from Talbot and a strike from Stapleton before half-time promised a second half stroll for Arsenal. Then, in a crazy last 5 minutes, United struck twice to equalise. Inspired by man of the match Liam Brady, the Gunners picked themselves up and with seconds left Alan Sunderland slid in for the winner. It is still the most remarkable finish ever seen in an FA Cup Final.
