The mighty mighty Gunners are to introduce a ‘buy back’ scheme next season in order to fill empty seats.

Many fans have noticed, and indeed have commented on the empty seats on match day despite to game being advertised as ‘Sold Out’.

The fact is, that these empty seats belong to season ticket holders who can not make it to the game for whatever reason (and lets face it, it will be an exceptional reason not to watch the Arsenal), and now Arsenal are offering the opportunity for these seats to be filled.

I’ll let Keith Edelman explain.

“With this scheme, Season Ticket Holders, who are not using their seat for a particular match, will be able to sell them back to the Club after we have sold out and receive payment for the ticket. Then we`ll be able to sell that ticket back to another fan who is desperate to come to the match.’

“It will be an online scheme and we have tried to keep costs down. The purchasers of tickets will pay no premium at all, other than the appropriate administration fee. The seller of the ticket will pay a 10 per cent fee.’

“It is something the supporters told us they were after. It is disconcerting to see some empty seats at Emirates Stadium even if they have all been paid for.
“This scheme allows us to get more tickets to fans who are not Season Ticket holders and allow current Season Ticket Holders to get a rebate back from the Club for those games they cannot attend.”

Excellent news and even more opportunities for the hundreds of thousands of Arsenal fans to get to watch their beloved team and a chance for STH’s to gain more value for their tickets.
