Marc Overmars, director of football at Ajax at the moment, is being considered for a role in part of the backroom restructuring at Arsenal this summer?

As we know the vast majority of fans – as far as the Arsenal Supporters Trust are concerned – want Arsene Wenger to leave the Emirates Stadium. However, not only will he staying, signing a new two year deal, he’s going to be handed £200m – after offloading several players to boost the coffers.

Wenger will then perform a ‘back room staff’ shakeup under the instruction of chief executive Ivan Gazidis – he is ‘pushing for change’ so even if the boss does indeed continue to hold he reigns at Arsenal ‘the club will look very different at the end of the summer’ according to the Mirror.

This restructuring could see former Arsenal winger Overmars return to North London, leaving his position at Dutch outfit Ajax to take up a similar director of football post with the Gunners – Borussia Dortmund’s Michael Zorc was also listed as a potential candidate to take up a position?

But the futures of goalkeeping coach Gerry Peyton, fitness coach Tony Colbert and a number within the scouting department are ‘under threat’ as far as the Mirror is concerned.
