Granit Xhaka has spoken of how easy he feels it has been to settle into life at Arsenal following his summer arrival.

Coming in for a reported £35million from Monchengladbach over the summer, Xhaka has certainly started winning over the fans with his performances and the standout highlight so far for the Switzerland international was his maiden club goal – and with two long rangers to his name already, the nickname of ‘Xhakaboom’ is pretty apt.

Speaking to the Official Site with the international window causing a lull in real football, Xhaka was asked about the nickname and he was just pleased to be able to chip in with a few goals when he can.

‘That`s really special, Xhakaboom. I don`t know where the ‘boom` comes from, maybe it`s because of my shots. To have a nickname like that so early on makes me proud. I`m not somebody who will score a goal every weekend, but I`m always proud and happy when I do score – and if it`s from long range, then it makes me even happier.’

He went on to add that although shooting from range is one of his strengths, getting goals isn’t what he’s really known for, so when they do come along he’s just going to be happy with them.

‘It`s one of my strengths – shooting from long range. Sometimes it comes off, sometimes it doesn`t, but when they do go in, it makes me proud. It`s always special to score your first goal for a new club. Of course this was a goal to make it 4-1, so it wasn`t that crucial, but for me it was very important and one I won`t forget. It makes me proud.’
