Arsenal have already received an offer from Sampdoria for Jack Wilshere.

Now the England midfielder is in talks with Antalyaspor. The Turkish club have confirmed an interest but the Gunners’ asking price for Wilshere, forgetting his own personal wage demands, will make a deal difficult.

Antalyaspor president Ali Safak Ozturk was quoted by Sky Sports: ‘We made an enquiry and are in talks but Arsenal want a lot for Wilshere. It will be a difficult move to pull off.’

Wilshere, 25, remains under contract at Arsenal for the coming season but talks over an extended deal are yet to take place, well, result in an extension anyway.

Arsene Wenger, prior to the Sampdoria links and this confirmed approach from the Turkish Super Lig club, said he was confident the midfielder would remain at the Emirates Stadium this season.

If this proves to be the case remains to be seen but a transfer to Turkey would be surprising, wouldn’t it?
