Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has said he hopes to be back in a ‘couple of days’ following the ankle knock he took in the game against Chelsea.
The former England man was substituted in the League Cup semi final clash on Wednesday evening having sustained the problem and manager Arsene Wenger initially commented that it was an ankle sprain which would obviously carry some time on the sidelines.
However, late yesterday evening Wilshere himself took to social media to allay fears about another spell out injured, and he was confident it was only a knock and that he’d be back in contention for this weekend’s clash with Bournemouth.
Thanks for all the messages and support after last night. Good news is i should be back in a couple of days 🙆♂️⚽️💪 pic.twitter.com/LDagEVnHmp

With Wenger effectively challenging him to remain fit to earn a new deal at the club, plenty will be pleased with this latest development.
