Those lovely chaps at Sky Sports have once again left their mucky paw prints all over the fixture list, having decided to rejig some of their original TV selections, the home match with Wigan Athletic from its Saturday, 14th April 3pm slot to an unfathomable Monday night slot on 16th April. With the fixture 5 weeks away, most travelling fans will already have booked their travel and made any accommodation plans necessary. I very much doubt Sky Sports will be fishing into their pockets to refund those supporters.

I think we all recognise and grudgingly accept that TV money doesn`t so much talk as walk up to you unaccosted and piss all over your sandals. But the likes of ESPN and Sky have begun to give shorter and shorter notice for these changes. Our match away at Bolton had to be moved from a Tuesday to a Wednesday evening at a fortnight`s notice due to ESPN, which caused major inconvenience to those of us that travelled. (Indeed, many could no longer do so as a result). If television really are so impervious to the supporters when rescheduling matches, surely now there have to be some hard and fast rules around how much notice they`re obliged to give. In any case, the fixture will now take place as below:

Arsenal v Wigan Athletic- Ashburton Grove- kickoff 8pm. Live on some channel or other. I`m sure there are plenty of other means of watching it though 

Oh and, if you can no longer attend the game due to Sky’s meddling and were planning on giving your ticket to a mate, heed this cautionary tale
