Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal future is still unclear but he’s got no interest in taking up the riches from the Chinese Super League. A world record offer has been turned down according to the Telegraph.

Wenger was reportedly offered £30m a year – which would have made him the highest paid manager in the world – to take up a job offer from an unnamed Chinese club. That didn’t appeal to him but Real Madrid would.

The Frenchman would prefer to takeover at Real Madrid if he did leave Arsenal in the summer according to the report. However, Madrid aren’t considering the future of Zinedine Zidane so that option would appear off the table.

Currently the best paid boss in football is Pep Guardiola at Manchester City with the apparent offer from China to Wenger twice the wage the City boss pockets. £30m would also be significantly more than the two year contract on the table that would see Wenger pick up £10m a year at Arsenal if signed.

Real Madrid probably wouldn’t be an option if his 21 year Arsenal stay came to an end but Wenger would ‘snub any approach’ from China to continue his managerial career. This will be ongoing even if he did leave the Gunners and doesn’t revolve around money.
