Not a great shock if the rumours are true, but it’s being reported that Arsene Wenger has signed a new two year deal at Arsenal after meeting with Stan Kroenke.

Having told our majority shareholder the news, it will be passed to the board at Tuesday’s meeting and it shouldn’t come as a shock to many if true as the indications were Wenger would be staying, it was just a matter of if he’s sign a new 12 month deal or the two year deal that has been on the table for a number of months.

The obvious caveat of unless there’s a u-turn is mentioned by the Daily Mail in their coverage and they seem to be the only main player reporting this at the moment unless I’ve missed someone, but people’s feelings on Daily Mail speculation will decide if they believe it or not.

It’s said that Wenger will be told to be more assertive in the transfer market as we don’t have another season like this one and Kroenke would like to see deals signed up ahead of time and not late on in the window.

Now we wait for confirmation.
