Alex Iwobi has been immensely impressive ever time he has taken to the field in an Arsenal shirt this season, raising admiring glances from all sections of the ground.

Iwobi put in a man of the match display in the 4-0 win over Watford on Saturday and even grabbed his first goal at The Grove following his strike against Everton just before the international break.

The potential of the Nigerian striker has been widely acknowledged by those in the know at the club but much like Hector Bellerin the season before, he has exceeded all expectations.

Arsene Wenger claims his progression is easy for the fans to see as they showed their appreciation after his substitution at the weekend.

He said ….

“These people have seen many good players over the years and they know straight away when a player has something special, so they acknowledge that, you cannot cheat people. They`ve seen how quickly he`s improved and how well he`s played.”

“It`s surprising how quickly he`s integrated into our game. He`s worked with us since the start of the season and he has grown, gained confidence and when he came in he had an impact straight away.”

“That`s benefited from the fact that he knows everybody and they trust him as well. I didn`t expect that level of efficiency or impact on the scoresheet.”
