Jack Wilshere was one of the stand out performers in Saturday`s 2-2 draw with Man City, not only did he play well but he scored a fine goal (not to mention putting Samir Nasri on his arse), and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says Jack has put his critics firmly in his place.

The English midfielder was arguably man of the match after putting in a great shift on the Ashburton turf, this comes after Wilshere has been on the end of much criticism from journos, former players and fans alike.

Wenger believes he`s back to his best. Speaking with Arsenal.com he said ..

‘When you have his talent, the most important thing is to go on the pitch every week and show how good you are, he works on it [his finishing] and I believe for a long time he didn’t kick the ball well because of his ankle.”

‘Now in training he kicks the ball well and he works on his finishing. Not excessively because first he’s a midfielder and you want him to give good balls.”

‘He looked dangerous in the first half as well because he has found his pace back. That for a while was not the case so I’m very happy.”
‘I’ve always told him the best way to answer your critics is on the pitch and he did it.’
