With many injuries suffered this season, especially in defensive area’s. Arsene Wenger was tempted to dip into the transfer market in a last ditch attempt to fill the gaps.

?We don’t buy anybody any more,? said the manager. ?I admit we are short a bit at the moment at the back. It is a conjunction of injuries and players at the African Nations Cup all in the same department.

?I could have done with a last-minute buy at the back because it could help us.

?But we have enough players now. We have to be patient, stick together and play.?

  • Wenger sounds like a man resigned to his mediocre fate. He knows he’ll never again topple the mighty Spurs, and his failure to sign anyone of note apart from Sunderland’s 3rd choice Goalkeeper, a Monaco reject and some pre-pubescent kid from Sothampton shows Arsenal are descending. Whats more, the sale of Bentley today shows he’s not prepared to play young English talent, whats the betting Walcott joins West Brom for £2m in a couple of years?

  • Funny……the words “Spurs” and “mighty” just don’t go together.

You notice that Sunderland’s third choice keeper is also our 3rd choice keeper, the Monaco reject was top scorer in the African section of the world cup qualifiers, and the pre-pubescent kid was a target for Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, and who else???……Oh thats right….Spurs!!!

Add to that Diaby and Hleb knocking back a whole host of clubs (both including Chelsea) to sign for Arsenal, and it seems to render your statement bollocks!

  • Spurs were not in for Adebayor, he completely fabricated the story, but I hear West Ham wanted him so he must be good. Hleb!! Nothing short of useless so far, too light-weight for the Prem, and I very much doubt Chelsea wanted him, who’d he replace, Lampard, Makeklele or Essien?! Finally Tottenham baulked at a vastly overpriced Walcott, especially when you consider he’s no better than Aaron Lennon, who we picked up for one million. Happy wasting gooners!

  • spu*s were in for Walcott and Adebayor! both rejected you for Arsenal…..funny that! Hleb was wanted by Chels*a and Juve! chose ARSENAL FC!!!
