Arsene Wenger has at last spoken about the incident on the touchline at West Ham last week that caused much embarassment for the club.

Le Boss says he regrets reacting the way he did even though he feels he was provoked.
Wenger also revealed that Pardew’s celebration spilled over into the Arsenal technical area which would explain why Wenger was more than a little peeved.

‘The conclusion is I felt provoked in a disrespectful way in my area,’ Wenger told Sky Sports 1.

‘I responded and I regret that I responded I shouldn’t have done it. Pardew apologised and I accept his apology. I asked for a one week’s holiday from the media in ten years. I need a little break as well.’

‘It was not linked with the incident. It was completely different reasons. I’ll keep those reasons for myself. We could have both done better. It is an incident that can happen in football.’

It is all water under the bridge now and I fullt expect a good hearty handshake when West Ham visit the Grove.
