Despite being a victim of injuries on International duties on countless occasions, Arsene Wenger has always been a big respecter of the various football assossiations, and never once held a player back from playing in meaningless friendlies.

The result of which has been nothing short of catastrophic, and I’m of the opinion (and this is just my opinion remember) that it has potentially cost us silverware, or at least a very good shot at it, over the past few years.

It hasn’t just been a couple of occasions either, it’s been plenty of times, and it’s always been to key players too, vital players that score, make, and prevent goals.

Well it seems as though enough is enough, and now Arsenal are following suit and doing what the rest of the league has been doing for years ….. and that’s making up sh*t so the players don’t have to feature in pointless friendlies.

News has been gently filtering though that both Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie have been withdrawn from their National squads due to ‘illness’.

Now let’s not pretend that they are actually poorly, just because someone tells us they have to see the national team doctor to get written off. It comes as no coincidence that Wenger has finally succumbed to the temptation of taking players from the international scene after having the embarrassing honour of becoming the first PL team to lose a four goal lead.

I’m not condemning him though, I’m applauding, it’s clear for all to see that we’re not getting any help from anywhere in our quest for glory, we’re being met head on with obstacle after obstacle, call me paranoid (and just because I’m paranoid doesn’t mean I’m not right), but it feels as though everyone is doing everything to ensure we don’t win.

So it’s time we took matters into our own hands and protect ourselves and our own interests. I wouldn’t be surprised to see one or two more come down with a mysterious ‘illness’. Infact I’m sure I just heard Theo sneeze.
