Alex Hleb has been in scintillating form since the 1-0 win over Real Madrid at the Bernabeau, something which Arsene Wenger has being paying attention to.

When Hleb joined Arsenal he fit seemlessly into the side, but following his spell out through injury he had struggled to regain that form that saw him named player of the month.

However, since his inspiring performance in Madrid, Hleb has gone from strength to strength, and has seen him take a starting place in the first team.

Wenger is extremly happy for him and the team.

‘We had many players that in the first six months found it hard to adapt,’ the Arsenal boss said.

‘After he got injured and he had a few games at home when he was not at his best, I think he was a bit worried. But the crowd helped him and the Real Madrid game helped him.’

Wenger added: ‘He is playing very well, is sharp and looks like he will always create something.’
