Arsene Wenger has reacted to Cole’s departure with the utmost grace and gave the England full back his best wishies.

Whilst the rest of the Arsenal supporting world were still seething over the actions of Ashley Cole that saw him move to Chelsea, Arsene Wenger showed the chavvy defender a thing or two about class.

Whilst Cole is busy slagging off the club that gave him his chance in football, Mr Wenger was wishing Cole well and thanking him for all he has done for the club.

It would have been easy for Arsene to say ‘good riddance’ to Cole and that we were better off without a player who brought the moral of the club down, but as ever Wenger was the perfect gentleman and was elegant, graceful and classy in his statement on the official club website.

‘Upon Ashley`s departure I would like to thank him on behalf of the team and everyone connected with the Club for his contribution to our success over recent years, Ashley has always played with his heart for Arsenal.’

‘I remember giving him his debut nearly seven years ago and he grabbed the opportunity. He had a strong desire to succeed and ultimately it was that determination that sees him leave this Club. Ashley has grown up with Arsenal and given time, will hopefully appreciate what the Club has given him. I feel the future is bright for this team and look forward to seeing it challenge for honours.’

Whilst Arsene is clearly calm and composed about what has happened, I am not nearly as classy.

Good riddance to bad s***.
