Manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has suffered a hamstring problem in the midweek clash against Southampton.

The England man came off in the first half with the problem, replaced by Hector Bellerin in the 36th minute and speaking to the Official Site in his post game press conference, Wenger confirmed it was a hamstring issue but as of yet he doesn’t know if it will rule him out of the FA Cup Final clash.

‘It`s a hamstring problem. But we don`t know how bad it is.’

With such a quick turnaround to the Stoke City trip on Saturday, he’s obviously doubtful for that with scans and assessments still to take place but Wenger was confident it wasn’t overly serious as Oxlade-Chamberlain was walking around fine post game, so he might just need the weekend to let it relax off.

‘I don`t know. It doesn`t look, because he walks properly. It was tight, it was not a knife, you know. Personally, I didn`t see any incident where he had to stop for a sprint, it was more fatigue. But it`s difficult to assess now, after the game.’
