Mathieu Debuchy looked as though he suffered an horrible injury in today`s 2-2 with Man City after the French defender hit the deck with nobody near him.

Keeping in mind our injury record over the past decade, everyone, me included assumed the worst and thought Debuchy would be out for a considerable period time with a broken leg or damaged ligaments, however Arsene Wenger has confirmed that it`s just a sprain ? albeit a bad one.

Speaking after the game he said ‘Debuchy has a badly sprained ankle. It doesn’t look too good. They need more time to assess how long he’ll be out.’

That`s not to say that this injury won`t keep him out for a while, but he`s more likely to recover quickly from a sprain than he is from a leg break.
