The debate over whether or not Theo Walcott is good enough to lead Arsenal`s front line has raged for years, for the most part it was all speculation and opinion however this season we`re actually starting to find out if he can as the Englishman gets a sustained run of games … and you know what, he`s doing alright.

Forgetting the fact that Arsene Wenger chose not to buy a new striker this summer, the injury to Danny Welbeck has seen the Gunners limited to just two strikers, Theo Walcott and last season`s first choice frontman, Olivier Giroud.

However this season Theo is getting his chance and Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Walcott is his first choice …. for now.

‘It is always hard, they are top players. I consider the form, the game on the day.”

‘At the end of the season both will have played their share of games but at the moment it is Theo. In a few weeks, it might be Giroud. What is important is that both contribute.’

Theo is doing a much better job on his all round game this season, whilst even though Giroud is unhappy about riding the pine, he`s doing a bloody good job as an impact sub. I don`t know the exact figure but I bet his minutes/goals ratio is among the best in England right now.
