Alexis Sanchez WILL be at Arsenal next season, according to Arsene Wenger. He insists the remaining year of his contract will be honoured with the Gunners boss still hopeful an extension will be signed too.

Arsenal’s miserable season could be somewhat salvaged by another FA Cup triumph after a place in next month’s final against Chelsea was secured when Alexis scored an extra time winner against Manchester City, who, along with the Blues and Paris Saint Germain, have been linked with the Chilean consistently in recent months.

When speaking after Sunday’s semi-final win Wenger, branding Alexis ‘an Animal’ – in a good way, was adamant the forward will still be an Arsenal player next season.

He was quoted by the BBC: ‘Alexis Sanchez was like the team. He had problems to start and became stronger and stronger. He is an animal, always ready to kill the opponent. He will never give up. He will be here next year because he has a contract and hopefully we will manage to extend it.’

I think we all know by now that Alexis, along with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlin, Kieran Gibbs and Jack Wilshere, will move into the final 12 months of his current deal at the end of the season.

Extension talks with Alexis and Ozil, the most high profile of the would-be out of contract players, are on hold until the end of the campaign – would an FA Cup win be enough to secure their long-term futures though as the chances are we’ll NOT see Champions League football next season.
