Arsene Wenger was rightly pleased with our overall showing against Stoke, and he took a lot of positives from the game.

Speaking to arsenal.com after the 3-1 victory Wenger said.

‘We had a solid team performance where you could see that the team improves defensively. We looked much more solid and we had a good start to the game until they equilised, then I felt we became a bit nervous. The second half was basically all us, and then the problem was to score goals. Van Persie can do that better than most people and he did it when he came on.’

Overall Wenger adds that it was a good, spirited performance and he was pleased that the crowd were rewarded and he was pleased with the backing they gave the team.
