The long term injury to Danny Welbeck has left Arsenal short in a position that we were already short in and at today`s pre-match press conference Wenger was asked as to whether Welbz` absence would chance his plans for the summer transfer window.

Arsene admitted that such a long term injury would leave the squad a little “short” up front.

“It is a good question, we have to think about that. When a player is out for nine months, you have to consider that it is a season and that makes you short on the striker front.”

Danny`s injury has left us short on numbers in the striking position and we were already well short in quality of strikers to begin with. One would hope that Arsene is just playing his cards close to his chest but failure to buy a striker … and a good one at that … would be irresponsible and reckless.

He simply has to buy.
