Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has revealed that despite Theo Walcott making great progress in his recover from his knee injury he will be missing at least the first few weeks of the season.

The rapid striker has been missing from action since injuring his knee against Tottenham in the FA Cup waaaaaaay back in January, however Wenger claims Walcott is at least 6 weeks away from returning to full first team training.

Speaking with Arsenal.com the Frenchman revealed “He’s progressing very well. He’s worked very hard during the summer and we expect him to be back in full training at the end of August.”

“That’s difficult to predict
[How long will Theo take to regain his place]. Once he’s back in full training it can be very quick. He has a good basis, which is what he’s working on now.

With such a serious injury it makes perfect sense for the club to take their sweet time with Theo. We coped relatively well without him for 5 months, we should be ok for a few more weeks.
