After coming off the bench and becoming the difference between winning and drawing, Arsene Wenger says Walcott has now earnt the right to more games.

Walcott was hugely impressive in his short stint on the pitch, indeed, everytime he comes on these days he seems to create a goal or two.

The spot for Baptista’s goal was an amazing piece of vision when it would have been easier to take on the shot as Walcott is too in search of his first Arsenal goal.

Wenger said, ‘We will give Theo more games now – because there are so many of them coming up. When he came on he provided power and pace – especially when he switched from the left to the right. And it helped us master Hamburg physically.’

I think both Wenger and Walcott have both been incredibly patient with regards to Walcott’s Arsenal career, but it was the right thing to do and now we are going to reap the rewards.

  • If Arsene wants to use him more regul;arly, then that’s fine by me, but if he wants to hold him back still ,you won’t find me complaining – Arsene seems to have been doing a pretty damn good job with Theo so far…

  • yep, something special indeed. He’s looked good whenever he’s come on, and if Arsene thinks the kid needs time before he gets a regular start, then I dont mind waiting too. Arsene playing him on the wings is a prelude till he learns a few things, before developing him as a genuine centre-forward. I am looking fwd to him starting, though, should be exciting. But what we shouldnt do is burden the kid with high expectations, but allow him grow into his potential.

  • He needs to grow more to be a genuine centre forward .. the man in the middle should be at least 5ft10 … however he does have something you can’t teach which is searing pace.
