Theo Walcott claims his trip to the world cup last summer did him the power of good and thinks the experience was a positive one.

Despite becoming the punchline to many rather crass jokes, Theo has decided to take the positives from the trip rather than listen to the mindless minority.

Even though Walcott didn’t get on the pitch for one minute in the tournament, the now under 21’s star is happy with the whole experience.

‘I didn’t expect to go to the World Cup but it was a brilliant experience for me,’ said Walcott.

‘Ronaldo went to a World Cup when he was just 17 and also didn’t play but look at him now. Just watching how the England players prepare for games, watching them train, watching Wayne (Rooney) was unbelievable.’

‘There is another World Cup in four years, so, hopefully, I’ll be there again.’

With an attitude like that, the boy will go far.

  • an absolute star in the making , I think he chose the right club and with wenger at the helm he will be awsome within two years you watch !

  • It would be good for him to go there but to know he didnt get used once when he clearly could of been tried will be a dissapointment.

  • I don’t know why he even went to the World Cup, when there was better players avaliable: Darren Bent, Jermain Defoe and Andy Johnson, could have all gone. But, Sven ‘The Moron’ Ericksson took Theo, and didn’t even give him a game, if he took him ahead of Bent, Johnson and Defoe, he should of at least give him a game. It annoys me, coz if any of the other players had of gone, they would have got a game like that!!!!!!!!!
