The Premier League season continued with the latest round of games played over the weekend, 30th September-1st October.

Saturday saw convincing wins for both Tottenham and Manchester United against Huddersfield and Crystal Palace, respectively. United’s win at struggling Palace took them back to the top of the Premier League, well, for a few hours…

West Brom were denied a Hawthorns win when Watford battled back to earn a point.

An important three points were also collected by West Ham when they snatched a late win over Swansea at Upton Park.

The late kick off saw champions Chelsea play host to a probable major rival for the Premier League title, Manchester City. A solitary goal was enough to secure the points in favour of City at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal needed a win and the Gunners got this on Sunday when beating Brighton.

That was followed up by the second game of the day when another impressive Burnley win away from Turf Moor – which was a fortress for the Clarets last season whereas away points were hard to come across – when they beat an Everton side that continues to find the going tough.

It’s also been a difficult time for the other half of Merseyside recently and Liverpool had to settle for a point at St James’ Park against former boss Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle.

Here’s a round-up of the Premier League results.
