Arsenal’s Champions League season began with a draw against Paris Saint Germain at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday.

Group A started with Arsenal managing to salvage a point in Paris when Sanchez scored a late goal in a one-one draw with PSG, who should have been out of sight by that point.

It took PSG less than a minute to go ahead with Cavani heading past Arsenal ‘keeper Ospina with the same player missing several chances to extend the lead.

Failure to take the chances, with Ospina also making some good saves, kept Arsenal in the match with Sanchez scoring with literally the Gunners’ first attempt on target on 77-minutes with Iwobi having a chance to win it.

Both sides finished with 10-men when Giroud, who had come off the bench with the aim of helping Arsenal to get something, and Verratti saw red when the pair clashed.

Here’s a round up of the Champions League action from the other matches played, with some still to take place.

Tuesday’s opening matches saw goals flowing, some matches were cagey and ended in draws but others saw Barcelona recover from a La Liga defeat to thrash Celtic seven-nil, which came after the Scottish Champions had thumped rivals Rangers five-one in the league ahead of this!

Another emphatic winner were Bayern Munich who won in Germany seeing off Rostov (who had knocked out Ajax in the qualifying rounds) emphatically five-nil.

Manchester City though couldn’t get a bid underway as the match against Borussia Monchengladbach at the Etihad Stadium didn’t go ahead with torrential rain causing a postponement although this was rearranged for Wednesday.

Who was the Gunners MotM? That’s what the latest poll is asking so do cast a vote.
