The League Cup season continued with the fourth round games, which were played in midweek.
Arsenal were taken to extra time by Championship side Norwich before the Gunners booked a quarter final place, which was also secured by Premier League leaders Manchester City after they were too taken to an extra 30 minutes – in fact City needed penalties to see off Wolves.
Things don’t get any easier for Crystal Palace as the Premier League strugglers were thrashed at Bristol City, convincing winners at the Ashton Gate to add to Palace’s worries.
Managerless Leicester did enough to see off Leeds and Manchester United reacted to a weekend defeat by seeing off Swansea at the Liberty Stadium.
