Middlesbrough will now concentrate on Premier League survival with an early goal for Manchester City setting Pep Guardiola’s side on the way to victory. A second after the break sealed a 2-0 win for City and took them into the semi-finals.

The misery of another Champions League thumping for Arsenal – from Bayern Munich – was put behind them with a 5-0 thrashing of Lincoln at the Emirates Stadium. A goal in first half added time set the Gunners on their way with four in the second half seeing off the non-league side to seal a place in the last four.

Sunday didn’t witness an upset as Tottenham saw Arsenal’s five and raised it when Spurs – with Son Heung-min scoring a hat trick – running out convincing 6-0 winners over London rivals Millwall. The Lions will now concentrate on securing promotion from League 1.

Jose Mourinho’s return to Stamford Bridge with Manchester United saw the holders bow out after a 1-0 defeat against Chelsea. Victory for the Blues leaves the bid for the league and cup double on in Antonio Conte’s first season in charge.
